Empowering Young Minds
Meet Shannon Redden Director of Administration
Shannon was raised in Central Oregon and comes to Treehouse Therapies as a Clinic Coordinator after decades of student-centered care for students in the Redmond School District. During her time as a CNAII for students in Independent Living Programs, she participated in a variety of programs and worked cooperatively with teachers, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, autism specialists, and augmentative communication specialists to aid students in developing their independence, self-care and self-management. By implementing physical and occupational therapy programs for individual students, as well as Augmentative Communication programs and technologies, children are better able to advocate for themselves (have a voice) and are better able to access their individual education.
Shannon has extensive experience in coordinating outreach programs, such as mobile dental care programs that provide dental care directly to students at their schools. Shannon spent several years as part of the TBI team that worked in conjunction with University of Oregon to develop effective and safe Return to School/Return to Sports protocols for students after experiencing concussions. Using the most current knowledge and science on concussions and head injuries, Shannon was part of a pilot program that developed the Return to Play protocols now used in many Oregon schools.
After studying Social Sciences and Nursing, and working for decades in healthcare, Shannon has found a new passion in the work of non-profit organizations and is excited to find ways to bridge the gaps in services to our region’s children! Shannon loves to travel and spend time outdoors. Her favorite past times are doing anything with her husband, kids, and her 6 grand-kids, because they are her favorite people.
